Aubrey's 1st Christmas dress!

Christmas 2009

Aubrey is going to be 6.5 months on her 1st Christmas! Grandma Julie started to get ready for Aubrey's first Christmas very early! How early? I think, she started to get ready about 6 months before Aubrey was born. The preparations might have began as soon as she found out that she would become grandma! She got her a red stocking to make sure Santa can put lots of presents in it for her 1st Christmas. Then she found out  that she was going to have a little granddaughter and she would be named  Aubrey, the stocking got the name "Aubrey" on it.  And the preparations continued. Quietly she planned on all the nice Christmas dresses that Aubrey will wear and the headbands she will have and oh, don't forget, the shoes!!  Grandma Julie did not say anything about it, but we all suspected, that Aubrey's first Christmas dress will be coming from Illinois and will be absolutely gorgeous!

Christmas 2010

November 2010 came, and the plans were announced! Aubrey is to have the most beautiful Christmas dress ever! The search began. The thorough investigation of nearby Kohls, JC Penney and other departments stores within grandma's 30 minute driving were fruitless! However, she was not discouraged! She "had" to go on a business trip to Chicago for a few days. The business part of it was to find Aubrey a perfect dress, but, of course, she did not tell that to anybody at the court house (where she works).  This time the mission turned out to be a huge success. Aubrey got, not one, but TWO, gorgeous Christmas dresses and along with it came a new shipment of Aubrey's new wardrobe for 9-12 months.   The dresses are amazing and we can't wait to take Aubrey's Christmas pictures in them! She looks like a little perfect doll! The rest of the wardrobe rocks as well. Aubrey, who is now, getting, very good at grabbing, started to pick out a few outfits out of the new clothes pile. We had to tell her, that it is for later and put the clothes away.

Somehow, in Chicago, grandma met Santa, because there were two cool toys ( NOT MADE IN CHINA! YAY!), that Santa put in grandma's box!

Great grandma added a little piggy bank full of dimes and bright rubber duckies for Aubrey's bath time. Sadly, piggy did not make the trip, although the dimes did:) Duckies are now enjoying bath time with Aubrey and just might fly south for the winter:)
